Daily Shot is National Geographic Traveller India’s daily photo contest.
"THEME : VISIT TAMIL NADU"
Mystical Brihadeshwara temple in its centuries-old reigning glory makes for our first entry. The photographer captures the intricate golden carvings that blanket one of the largest Shiva lingas in India, located in Thanjavur.
Verdant tea plantations of Valparai carpet its hilly folds, nurturing some of the best organic and conventional varieties of the piping beverage in India. Sadhiq perched himself atop the towering curves for a click of the sunkissed tea estates.
#DailyShot: Vikram Ramachandran crossed paths with the mighty Indian elephant at the Mudumalai National Park, and was humbled by its majesticity. He framed his acquaintance in a picture.

It could be a fiery preparation of katla fish served on a banana leaf at a hole-in-the-wall restaurant in Karnataka, Galician-style tuna empanadas in Spain, a humble portion of siddu with a side serve of mountain views in Himachal Pradesh, delish Mexican pozole or festive-special roasted silkworms found only in Guwahati.   • Minimal photo editing is permissible, but altering the photograph is not allowed. We assume that every photo submission is legitimate. However, if a photo is suspected of alteration, it will be rejected. The final decision rests with the editorial staff.
