Daily Shot is National Geographic Traveller India’s daily photo contest.

"THEME : VISIT TAMIL NADU"

Mystical Brihadeshwara temple in its centuries-old reigning glory makes for our first entry. The photographer captures the intricate golden carvings that blanket one of the largest Shiva lingas in India, located in Thanjavur.

Verdant tea plantations of Valparai carpet its hilly folds, nurturing some of the best organic and conventional varieties of the piping beverage in India. Sadhiq perched himself atop the towering curves for a click of the sunkissed tea estates.

#DailyShot: Vikram Ramachandran crossed paths with the mighty Indian elephant at the Mudumalai National Park, and was humbled by its majesticity. He framed his acquaintance in a picture.

In the fan-favourite hill station of Ooty, the Pykara river gracefully seeps through rugged rocks, while lush greenery completes the postcard-pretty scenery. Rishabh Verma does not pass on the opportunity to photograph nature’s splendid show.

Built in 1914, the Pamban Bridge looms over the turquoise waters of the Bay of Bengal, connecting Pamban island to Mandapam in mainland India. Vimalkanth V Gurusamy’s panoramic click of the spectacular engineering marvel is our daily shot of the day.

A lucid dusk sky in Krishnagiri unfolded to flaunt innumerable glimmers for the orbs of Karthik Rangappa. He seized the moment in a photograph, while being spellbound by the celestial art.

Vijayalaya Choleeswaram temple in the panchayat town of Narthamalai has withstood the course of time to exhibit history dating back to the 9th century. Rajadurai V captured the magnificence of the Chola dynasty.

Swathes of lush tea gardens beckon a drive through the tourist-favourite resort town of Ooty. Abhishek Singh's photograph of the scenery is our contest entry of the day.

In a still where the horizon separates blues of the expansive sky and the ocean, Susmita Paul captures fishing boats dotting the limitless stretches of the Bay of Bengal near Pamban Bridge.

Propped atop one of the many hills that embrace Poombarai Village, Dinesh Kumar photographs verdant vistas carpeted by spreads of terraced fields.

It could be a fiery preparation of katla fish served on a banana leaf at a hole-in-the-wall restaurant in Karnataka, Galician-style tuna empanadas in Spain, a humble portion of siddu with a side serve of mountain views in Himachal Pradesh, delish Mexican pozole or festive-special roasted silkworms found only in Guwahati.
