Festivals draw thousands of photographers from across the world to shoot gatherings of unique culture and frenetic action. But they can be overwhelming for the same reasons. Interesting images are a about finding a moment, in the right light and with sufficient proficiency of working with your gear. Know roughly what you want to shoot, so you can travel with the correct equipment. I believe in travelling as light as possible, in order to carry everything you need yourself, through crowds and over distances.
Ashima Narain has worked as a fashion, wildlife, wedding, and ngo photographer. She has also directed and shot award-winning wildlife documentaries, “In The Pink” and “The Last Dance”.
