The 11th Pride Walk was boisterous, flamboyant, and inclusive, a reflection of a city making space for all.

“This is how we are, this is how we walk! Happy Pride!” The air rang with a boisterous energy, as hundreds grouped together at Chitra Theatre—one of the biggest pre-multiplex theatres in Chennai—and walked in unity to celebrate the 11th edition of Chennai VaanavilSuyamariyadhaiPerani (Rainbow Self Respect March) or the Pride Walk on June 30 2019.

Organised by The Tamil Nadu Rainbow Coalition, the Pride this year was as much about empathy and acceptance, as about intersectionality. Here’s a photographic look at the celebrations.
